March 1856 Su 30 Staid at home ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------- Mo 31 We cut and halled some wood and I fixed the steps and I went to Thomas Heads after some oats and then we sewed down and ploughed in oats ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------April the 1st 1856 Tues 1 We put up some fence while the ground was frose and then we ploughed and finished our oats about 2 hours by sun and then I broke up some of the garden ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------- We 2 It rained a little while in the morning and after the rain We helped Wm Winkler clean up corn ground. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------- Thu 3 We commmenced sewing clover and ploughed in oats for S. W. Allen ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------- Fr 4 We ploughed in oats for S.W. Allen ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------- Sat 5 We finished S.W. Allens oats about 11 oclock and then I went to A W Smeathers role logs but he was done and I helped James H. Richmond mark and alter his ???? and piddled about ???? this must be some kind of livestock but I just could not work out what he meant
