Nena I am from Owensboro and I have been all over the Greenwood Cemetery. First of all I want to let everyone know that I am not being Racial but am just trying to enlighten you about Greenwood. I have lived here all of my life and did not know that that Cemetery was named Greenwood until Les Acton started cleaning it up.The Cemetery was called the "N" slang word that is used to describe a person of African desent.I am not sure that there are any White people buried there, there may be but I do not know who they are.There are a lot of blacks buried there in unmarked graves.There was actually a white guy that started the cleanup job on the cemetery and several Whites put in a lot of hard Hrs out there during cleanup.
