Following is the family of William Winkler Sr. He had a daughter named Rebecca of whom I had no other record and I believe this Journal entry records her death The H C Brown he went fishing with was probably the same man who is married to Eliza Winkler (mentioned below) Descendants of William W. Ky. He married (1) ELIZA ADAMS May 16, 1822 in Daviess Co. Ky, daughter of ELI ADAMS and REBECCA MCDANIEL. She was born Abt. 1805, and died Jun 14, 1844 in Daviess Co. Ky. WINKLER: History of Daviess Co Ky - 1883 EDITION , pg 630 William Winkler was born in Washington Co, Ky., Oct 3, 1801, is a son of Adam Winkler, a native of North Carolina, who settled in Washington Co. during the Revolution, and in 1812 brought his family to Daviess Co and settled in the woods in Knottsville Precinct. Indians and wild animals were plenty, but at that time, though the Indians were peaceable. Adam Winkler lived to see many changes in this county before his death. William Winkler married Eliza Adams. Of their twelve children but three are living- Hiram, William and Joseph F. Mrs. Winkler died June 14, 1844, and June 18, 1846, Mr. Winkler married Alcy Hale, who died Dec. 16 1881.
