    2. Nichols
    3. I want to thank everyone for all of the info sent. I am going through it now and comparing to my notes. I finally located notes on 1880 census where I found Thomas. It is as follows: Daviess Co. Census 1880 Whitesville District pg. 28 Enumerated 26 Jun 1880 HH# 246 Thomas Burris age 26 Wagoner Kentucky Nancy J. 27 Kentucky John Knott 13 Brother in law Kentucky The two most likeliest connections so far are a Nancy Knott born1855 Marion Co.,Ky to James and Sarah (Davis) Knott and a Thomas G. Burris Born 1856 Taylor Co., Ky to a William and Janes S. ( Pratt) Burress My G-Grandfathers name is William Leslie Burris, b: Jan 1881 in Daviess Co. Story has it that he had at least two brothers possibly named Thomas and Ernest and that their parents died when they were young. The kids were placed in an orphanage and William was the eldest, he ran away from the orphanage at the age of 12 and made his way south to Bainbridge, Ga. where he had family. That story is all I know. Anyway THANKS everyone for the help. Katherine
