She married Willis John Black in 1828 in Ohio County. on the consent form Solomon Phillips said that she was his sister and lived with him and that her father was dead. The Mr Phillips who Davis refers to could be oneof Mary's brothers. I've noticed that he tends to use the more respectful "Mr" for older men.
