    2. St. Alphonsus Cemetery Records are on file in the Owensboro Library. But, I've got the list here and there are no Carrico or Lynch listed. I see that St. Lawrence has Carrico. St. Peter's, Stanley has one, Lawrence Lynch. St. William, Knottsville has Carrico's. Mater Dolorosa has many Carrico and also Lynch. I would make your first stop at the Library. Nice folks there to help you. Amelia Kelly Chicago

    3. I think your best bet would be to go to the office of St. Alphonsus parish which is very close to the cemetery. They have the cemetery records there. 3. OK, now I'm asking if anyone can help my friend with this. I'm hopeing a descendant of this Wilson family sees this! Thanks. She said "My gg-grandmother America Wilson was the daughter of James Wilson from Owen County. She married Fleming Rice Yarbrough and removed to Daviess County. Her brothers Martin G. and James also came to Daviess County and all died there. Martin and James were well-known farmers. Martin came to Daviess County in the spring of 1878. I need the name of their mother. I looked up Martin's death certificate while visiting Owensboro but was unable to read his mother's name. It looked like Panfrey Golden or Paufewy. I enlarged the certificate several times but that didn't help. In the 1850 Owen County Census she goes by Polly, no wonder! That's the only place I have seen her listed. I know Martin was the father of Dr. O.D. Wilson and Judge James R. Wilson. Maybe some of their family would know her name. James Wilson didn't have a death certificate for some reason and America died before they were issued. Perhaps you may have someone in your list of people that could help? Thanks, Pat"

St. Peter Church was located on the property at one time, it eventually fell apart. No one knows what happened to the rubble from the church, possibly picked up by passers-by. This cemetery is in good condition and is currently maintained by members of the HARDESTY family. Everyone buried here is believed to be related in some way. Family members believe there are others buried here and the stones were either damaged or removed. I am still researching this cemetery. 3. I believe this is the marriage you are asking for. I find in the Daviess County Marriages that I am presently transcribing. I am in a position to make other lookups from 1780 through mid-1906 which is where I am transcribing as we speak. Regards, Harold Bishop Morgan Howard, John E. Stivers, Ida D. Mar 3/4, 1896 Sur T. V. 2. Looking for information on a Samuel SMITH (Sr) and a Samuel SMITH (Jr), both supposedly born in Kentucky. Sam, Jr. was born August 24, 1844 and was married to Rhoda Catherine "Katie" CARRICO, September 17, 1867, in St. Rose Catholic Church, in Springfield, Ky. Sam, Sr., supposedly born in Kentucky, was married to a Nancy CUSICK, no dates or places available. Kate CARRICO's mother was a SPALDING/SPAULDING. I'm not sure but I have reason to believe that the CARRICO, CUSICK, and SPALDING families came from St. Mary's County, the southernmost county in Maryland. The SMITH line could possibly be a GERMANNA family, since they are descended from the KEMPER and HOLTZCLAW families. Any help or direction would be most appreciated. I am NOT a member of the SMITH-L list so any response from there needs to be directed to me directly at the e-mail address given below. Thanks again. Cookie, in Florida < GreystokeB@aol.com >
