    3. Hello! Lilly B. PATTERSON was born 10/25/1862 Ky. She married my g grndfather, William Nathaniel ELLIS on 6/9/1880 at Rockport, Spencer Co, Ind. Then, they went back to Yelvington, Daviess Co, Ky to live with his family. Lilly's death cert lists her father as William PATTERSON, birthplace:Ky. Mother:Unknown Birthplace:Unknown. I have seen Lilly's name all different ways on different records. Lilly/Lillie/Lillian/Lillien. I wonder if her father's middle name was William and that's what he went by was "William" instead of his real first name. Can you help me? J legans wrote: > > Hi! I have heard the name Lillie B. 3. This was posted on th Hancock Co., GenConnect Board (Why Hancock and not Daviess? Don't ask me?) There was a minor correction message the next day, which I have incorporated into this message. http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ky/Hancock?read=662 There is information about the tornado at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~kygenweb/daviesstornado.html Patrick Hays http://www.migrations.org West Central KY Family Research Association Posted by Norma Evans Williams <Njewilliams@aol.com> on Sun, 14 May 2000, in response to Books and Cemeteries, posted by Patrick Hays on Wed, 03 May 2000 Surname: After much hard work I am happy to say WCK-FRA library is now open. The tornado did destroyed most the book cases, tables, chairs, etc. but we were able to save almost all of our Library books. The books we Sale were in another room and received only minimum damage. We are now located in downtown Owensboro about one block from Executive Inn. Our address is 222 Walnut St. between Main (2nd St) and 3rd St. (Locust Sreet is 1 way.) We plan to be open for research each Wednesday 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM and the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month, the same hours. For more information about WCK-FRA or the books we sell you can write, WCK-FRA at P.O. Box 1932 Owensboro, KY 42301 or e-mail me. 3. I was hoping someone in an official capacity with the WCK:FRA (West Central Ky Family Research Association) would come in on this but I will make a try at it. The Association was started in 1968. Dues are $15 a year. You receive a bulletin and Ky Family Records quarterly. My Mother is a long time member and helped with a lot of their books. .They have an impressive list of publications to their credit, including cemetery and census books and 23 Volumes of their quarterly 'Kentucky Family Records". (for people with west central Ky connections these can be a goldmine) These are all for sale and are also available in the Ky Room at the Owensboro Library. I may br wrong on this but I believe that a number of the books in the Ky Room were donated by or are on loan from the Association. They have always been separate from the library and although I have never had the opportunity to use it, I believe their workroom does have material not available at the library. I know that they got Mike Edgeworths' papers when he died. I just hope nothing irreplaceable was lost in the storm. Because it is operated by volunteers their hours are restricted. Mon and maybe Wed. I'm usually only in Owensboro at the weekend to visist family so I never get to go. The address for any one interested is: WCK-FRA P O Box 1932 Owensboro Ky 42302-1932 Carol ----- Original Message ----- From: Cindy Birk Conley <cbconly@midwest.net> To: <KYDAVIES-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, May 14, 2000 11:00 AM Subject: Re: [KYDAVIES-L] genealogy libraries > Klaryse, > > Yes, the genealogy society has its own building for meetings and storage > of the many books it sells, and does have it open some for genealogy > research. 3. Oh Denyce, That would be great! I can't tell you how much this means to me. Would you, please, check 1870 Ohio Co for my ELLIS's? I have lost them prior to 1880 Daviess Co, Ky tracking by census. Your info would help to verify what I have so far. I have a copy of the 1880 Daviess Co census, but, I don't know if they are even in Daviess Co in 1870. They might be in Ohio Co or Hancock Co in 1870. I did find who my Wm P. ELLIS's brothers and sisters married through on line info and on the 1870 Ohio Co census'. Jenetta ELLIS married Thomas BERRYMAN. I think she is buried in the CHINN cemetery. Adeline ELLIS married Pendleton SWAIN. Theodore ELLIS married Altha D. CHAPMAN. I just can't find anything definite on Wm P. and Sarah/Sally THOMAS ELLIS for 1870. Wm P.'s parents: Wm and Adeline FANT ELLIS are supposedly buried in Ohio Co, Ky, but, I haven't been able to find them yet. Might you have any leads? I did find Adeline's father, Wm P. FANT in Ohio Co for 1860. I even got a copy of his will, but, nothing on my ELLIS's. 3. Yes, it was destroyed in the tornado. There is an article about it on the KYGenWeb page at http://www.rootsweb.com/~kygenweb/daviesstornado.html. They may have a new home, but probably still need help. For a list of some of their publications (don't ask me if these are still available, I don't know), take a look at http://members.aol.com/sammcpub/cat2ky.htm and scroll down to the second big section starting with Kentucky Family Records Series. 3. Klaryse, Yes, the genealogy society has its own building for meetings and storage of the many books it sells, and does have it open some for genealogy research. I have been to the KY room in Owensboro without realizing there was another location as well. My guess is the split took place in the early 1990s, but am not sure. In Evansville the Tri-state Genealogy society has its meeting right in the special collections area at Willard Library, but don't know if they have some storage space for other materials. Cindy

    3. Diane, Sorry to hear about your computer troubles. It's not fun. I'll be here when you can send the ELLIS file you have. I have not found any SPARKS yet. Sorry. Have you found out yet what Lettie is short for? This is what I have on the THOMAS family, I'm not even sure which one is the right THOMAS family that my Sarah is really from. Sarah(Sally) THOMAS b:1/27/1838 + William P. ELLIS on 9/14/1857 in Ohio Co, Ky. Sarah died 3/30/1897 and is buried w/William in the Kelly Cemetery at Maceo, Ky (Daviess Co.) Their marriage records shows her given name as Sally THOMAS. I have found a Sarah THOMAS in both Hancock and Ohio Counties in Kentucky in 1850 as just about the right age. Since Sarah/Sally THOMAS ELLIS was born in 1838, she would be 11 or 12 in 1850. THOMAS family 1850 Hancock Co, Ky census: THOMAS, Doctor S. 38-blacksmith b:1812? Margaret 39 1811? William S.14 1836? Hi Louise, Just found this census at the Grt Lakes Ntl Archives. 1920 Daviess Co, Ky MORRIS, James Head 35 MORRIS, Lara Wife 35 MORRIS, Edith Dau 14 MORRIS, Anna Dau 12 MORRIS, Elizia Dau 10 AUBREY, Jas SIL 18 AUBREY, Lillian Dau 18 ELLIS, Wm. 80 This is "Lara" (Laura L.) ELLIS MORRIS, daughter of Wm N. and Lilly ELLIS. William Nathaniel ELLIS was born in Hancock Co, Ky. His father, William (P.) is the one listed here at 80 yrs of age. If I could track the children of Jas and Lillian AUBREY, maybe I would find all my answers. After all, this Lara/Laura ELLIS MORRIS named her daughter after her mother, Lillian/Lilly PATTERSON ELLIS. Do any of these MORRIS's connect with yours? Does this James MORRIS connect? Yours, Klaryse lkvan@bellsouth.net wrote: > > Does anyone have anything on the family of > Annie E. Harley > > 1 Annie E. 3. Hi, II got this from a KY. Obituaries CD: Phil.Thompson Killed in Owensboro, Daivess County (KY) in November. 1836. by a Mr. Jefford. Story in OR 12/7. I assume the last part refers to an Ownesboro newspaper. I believe this Phillip Thompson is my gg-grandfather. Is anyone researching his family?? Is the story referred to published in any book? The following names are either children of Phillip and Sallie Moseley or siblings of Phillip: Catherine, Daniel M., Sally C., John W., Martha, Susan (all Thompsons). ANY help will be appreciated. Some of the collateral lines to this family are Williams, Mosel(e)y , Johnson and Scarborough. Faye cnfb@flash.net
