Hi list, is there anyone who can help me find land records for Daviess Co., KY? I'm looking for any Tanner's who might have owned land in Owensboro, KY about 1874 when my grandmother Adria Tanner was born. If anyone can help, I sure would appreciate any help I can get. Thanks for any info. Jeniffer Florreich Anderson, CA
Tina Hall; Tina there is a Nancy Thomas that was listed as being age 32 and had one child , Delia age 10 in the Daviess County 1850 census. I would suggest that you check the Hopkins County [Madisonville] records for the Ashby line. they even have a small community named Ashbyburg. Bob Norris Debbie you are right your Hubby Jim Howard that crashed the ultralite plane is just the opposite of a dummy and he is also a super nice guy.The Owensboro Messenger-Inquirer does not seem to get their facts right anymore since they sold out to those people in Texas.
Hi all! I am looking for the family of Nancy E. Ashby born 1822 in KY. She married James Aaron Thomas on February 25, 1840 in Daviess County, KY. They lived in Webster county, KY. James then married a Sarah Ashby Agnew, whom I believe to be a relative of Nancy's, but I can't locate family for either of them. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. This line has been such a struggle for me. James married 3 times, and Nancy was the woman I descend from, but I couldn't find her maiden name until a cousin looked in her marriage records and discovered this Daviess county marriage for me. I have looked everywhere that I can for Ashby's in 1840 Daviess co. I'm hoping that one of you already know all about her family. thanks, Tina Hall res00waz@gte.net Tina's Family Genealogy Page at: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~thall/ Steve and Tina's Home Pages at: http://home1.gte.net/res00waz/index.html ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ If you cannot get rid of the family skeleton, make it dance! ~George Bernard Shaw ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

"Yes, Virginia, there really was such a thing as a Poorhouse! It was not just something your parents made up, like a boogeyman, to frighten you into saving your money and spending carefully and to discourage you from making excessive, greedy demands on the family budget. County Poorhouses dotted the United States throughout most of the 1800s. " Exerpt from the Main Page The Poorhouse Story http://www.poorhousestory.com/
