Second -- Ambros Melton, 23, M, W, Farmer, b KY Margaret, 22, F, W, Keeping house, b KY Charles, 1 M, W, -, b KY Simon could NOT possibly be John's father as he was only 14-15 years older. I think John was missed by the census or he moved to Cumberland Co after 1870. I don't see any John Melton listed in KY census during 1870 or 1860 that would be the correct age.
