They came into Jackson County Tenn. in 1835 from Virginia. Isaac Romines married around 1835 and had at least one son,John. (1) John Romines married around 1862 and had at least one son Charlie. (1) Charles Romines b. 1867 or near that time(in 1963 a very old man , named Charlie Romines was still living in Algood Tenn. Benjamin Romines b. 1810 d. 1864.He is the grandfather of Bertha Romines Carter r#2 Eldorado ,Ill. She is now 88years old and remembers her aunt telling her a few things about the Romines Family; She heard that Ben was a small man with a hot temper. He was of Irish descent and married a Dutch woman named Nancy Richey. They have 11 children (1) Jim,(2) Tom b. 1845-1919 (3) Layton (4) Ann (5) John (6) Rhode (7) Bennylee (8) emmiline (9) one who died at nine week old. (10) Isacc (b. 1857-1922), and the youngest son was named Charlie (b. 1859 died a short time before 1917) Ben and his family left Jackson Tenn.in 1847 and went into Kentucky. Ben died in 1864 was buried in the old Red Lick .His wife Nancy died in 1897 and was buried in the same cemterybut she was in the older part and her grave could not be found as there was no marker He was laid in another area. 1. JIm had two son , Green, and Westly. They left Kentucky (d. inHemitite ,Mo) 2. Thomas Romines b. Feb. 12, 1845 - d. July 4, 1919. Married Susan Luewwlllyn,daugther of Samuel Luewellyn and Louisa Brince onSpet. 25,1867 in Cumberland Co.Ky. They had 15 children. One of the fifteen died before begin named. 1.Gabriel R. b. Oct.7, 1869 d July 1874 2. Emmet R. b.Dec. 18, 1870 d.April 30 1889 3. Elam R. b.June 7, 1872 d. April 9, 1967 in Edmonton,Ky. -m- Kittie Stephens in 1896 who was still living in 1967.
