I believe that his parents were Robert Tobin and Sarah Hardin. One listing shows that John had a brother Joseph. Do you perhaps know if your Joseph's parents were Robert and Sarah. John Tobin moved to Mo in 1838 with his young wife Eliza McNeeley and their two children. If you have further information about the Tobins and wish to compare notes I would be happy to hear from you.
