I have had this brickwall for 2 years about finding out about Lemuel Jones. Hope you can help! Here's my latest clue which I hope you can help me research and possibly repost on Gee lists. This was found on a typed copy of some JONES records: "Lemuel Jones is named as a Chain Bearer for John S. Gee who moved to Barren Co,m KY the 20th of November 1805" Source is TRACES Summer 1992 Published by South Central Kentucky and Genealogy Society. I think this John S. Gee is John Sanford Gee (1777 VA to 1853) who's Father is Jesse Gee (1758 VA to 1814 KY) and who's Grandfather is Neavil Gee. Jesse Gee lived near to my Lemuel Jones per the 1810 Cumberland Co KY Census. Where did Lemuel Jones come from and who were his parents? Was it VA or NC? Where?
