Chaney. He was a member of the 9th Tennessee Cavalry USA and was injured by a horse near Burkesville in June of 1864. The information I have is from pension files and they merely say that part of the regiment was on a scouting expedition away from the main force and camped in a lot near a farm house. It's vague, I know. But I was wondering if anyone has any information about a squad of Union cavalry near Burkesville at that time.
