My gg grandmother was Minnie Leigh (Gossage) Davis (1878-1946). She married Middleton Davis in March of 1893 in Barren Co., Kentucky. Her parents were James H. and Harriet (Leigh/Lee/Leay) Gossage. They married in 1874 in Barren Co. I was not able to locate them in the 1880 census so far. Minnie's death certificate shows that her father's place of birth was Cumberland Co., Kentucky. He was still living in 1893 because he signed Mid and Minnie's marriage license. Can you help me any with these people? Thanks, J. D. Houchens jdhouchens@yahoo.com

    3. Hello, I a new to the list. I am looking for the Kelley/Kelly family, in particular, J.W. and his wife Almarinda. they are on the 1870 census in Burkesville twp. J.W. was born in Lincoln County, KY and Almarinda was born in Cumberland County. They had a daughter named Emily Jane who married in Livingston County in 1875 to Nicholas Blankenship who was also born in Cumberland County. If this J.W. is who I think he is, then he is my grt grt grandfather who fought w/Union Army, Civil War, 1st TN Mtd infantry. If anyone can connect, or knows any info, or where I might find info, please let me know. I look forward to sharing what I have as well.     3. I would appreciate any information concerning where Joseph B. and Mary Ann (Bouldin) Firquin are buried. He died in Cumberland Co in 1887 and she died in Cumberland Co in 1891 according to the information I received. Thanks, Melba Alexander Russell

My grandparents were Joe and Annie Riddle of Burkesville, KY. The house was located in Scott's Bottom, and they occupied it during the 60's. It was a large colonial style home with acreage. I've been told that someone bought it and restored it after my grandparents moved out, and it supposedly was named (or had always been referred to) as "Bluegrass Hill". It was also supposed to be open for tours. If anyone knows of this home, if it's still open for touring, or if you know the present owners, please contact me. Thank you.

(Elizabeth was married to a CLEMUS before she married Thomas.)

Peggy died circa 1811; and as the story goes James left the children with an uncle and disappeared. I do not know anything about James or Peggy or their parents. If you know anything please contact me. I have been looking for them for 40 years. Also, the 4 Mobley children married children of Benjamin Campbell, Jr. Thanks!
