Leola who you already know. Frances who was married to John Dunning and they are both buriedn in New Hope Cemetery in Moss, Tn I think Frances' parents are Albert Wilson Short and Ruth Jane Smith. You mentioned that you think they are buried at Shorts Chapel. My listing of the cemetery does not put them there. However Leola's father is there with his third with Jane Biggerstaff. There is no Adam there either. I have come across the reasearch for Adam, but nothing concret. Also there is some research that William's father might be Issac. I not convinced either way yet. The last time I was at Shorts Chapel was about 15 years ago. My dad was born in the house that was right next to it. The house was gone then. We went by both cemetery, but I know there has to one or two more out there with more relatives. Unfortunaley I cannot give you any directs to either. You will probably have to stop in Burkesville and get some directions. Write me at my email address pumalee@webtv.net Sheri

I have a picture that has her brother "Ab" in it with two other men and they are all on mules. I believe Ab is the one on the left because I saw a picture of another one of his sisters and he looks just like her, but don't know for sure. I believe I have a small copy I can try to e-mail you and maybe you might know who they are.

My brothers and father were just up there a few weeks ago and didn't see it, but they also didn't know which cemetery they were looking for either. I have ancestors, Albert "Ab' Short and his wife, Ruthie who are buried there. Thanks! I would also like to find out if there is an "Adam" Short buried there who was born about 1780.

William was married 3 times and had alot of children. His son, "Ab" and his wife Ruthie are buried there in the Long-Short cemtery. My brothers and father were just up there a few weeks ago and they couldn't find it, of course they really didn't know which cemetery they were looking for at the time. Anyway, I have some genealogical info on William Short, but we haven't been able to get any further back than him. We think his father was Adam Short, b. 1780 in VA but we don't know for sure. Did you ever find where the cemetery is?

I have never been able to find Barthena and Park on any census together. I did find her listed with John/Frances' family. In the 1900 Clay Co Tn Dist #1. The next year she was listed by herself with an Albert W. Short listed as boarder. I think Albert might be Frances' father. I have John and Frances' death certificates. Frances was the informant for John's cert. but Buelah was the informate for Frances' cert. John's parents names are suppose to be Park Dunning and Barthena Brown. I think Park must be a middle name, but Barthena must be her first. As for Frances' parents they are listed as Abb Short and Jane Smith. The Albert Wilson that I think is Frances' father is the son on William Short and Rebecca Brown. I wonder if Barhtena and Rebecca are related. Also my other great-grandmother was a daughter of William Short and his second wife Malinda Coe. I hope this helps. Thank you again. Sheri

They were living in District 1 which is north of Celina toward the Kentucky state line around Moss, TN. I also noticed on a website that there is listed a Carmack Dunning who married Hobert Lloyd Plumlee bef 1935. They had a son named Thomas L. Plumlee b. 1935 and d. 1995. Hobert is buried alone in Moss Cemetery. I have been unable to locate another person by the name of Carmack Dunning so I am assuming that this is her 2nd marriage. Sandy
