Chaney. He was a member of the 9th Tennessee Cavalry USA and was injured by a horse near Burkesville in June of 1864. The information I have is from pension files and they merely say that part of the regiment was on a scouting expedition away from the main force and camped in a lot near a farm house. It's vague, I know. But I was wondering if anyone has any information about a squad of Union cavalry near Burkesville at that time. I don't expect to find mention of my ancestor specifically, but anything may help. Please e-mail me at chaney1@hotmail.com with any info. Thanks.

In Burkesville, Ky. they have a neat genealogy library and a great old records room in their court house. I just return from a visit there. Wish I had known there was someone needing something. The folks there were very gracious and I am sure they would check out a date or name for you. Murphy Sr. Now I know that Jr.'s middle name was William,but was Sr.'s middle name Wallace? Don't know where I got that info,does not make any sence,but I did find that in one of my long ago notes.
