Pittman, d/o Micajah C. Pittman and Isabella Shelley (d/o Peter Shelley and Jane Shy). Haved you yet discovered this Nancy's maiden name? Three of my Nancy's seven Pittman siblings were: John Anderson, Margaret E. and William M. and three of Nancy Cooksey's children were John A, Margaret H. and William A.. This may simply be coincidence but I'm hoping, just the same, that my hunch is correct. John Thomas' father was witness on the will of Peter Shelly and was his neighbor in 1860 and 1870. The widow Isabella Pittman in 1870 was also a neighbor. All her children except Nancy were still in the household,. John T and his fairly new bride, Nancy J., and young son were living with John's parents.

    2. I have an ancestor named Sally Cooksey. She married Josey(Joseph?) Brown. They had a daughter named Mahala who married William Harper. Anyone have any info on these families? Thanks!
