The Jerry Adkisson mentioned in my notes was a DeROSSET research buddy of mine several years ago and he was always very careful and thorough. 1870 Cumberland Co., TN Census; GIST, Eliza, 47; Emely G., 22; Sarah E., 14; James F., 12; Robert Y., 10; Ann, 7. 1880 Clinton Co., KY Census: Gist, Elizia, w, f, 57, wd, keep house, TN, VA, TN; Sarah, w, f, 23, dau, TN, TN, TN; James, w, m, 22, son, ma, TN, TN, TN; Robert, w, m, 19, son, TN, TN, TN; Ann, w, f, 17, dau, TN, TN, TN; Elsenia, w, f, 21, dau-i-l, KY, KY, KY. Jerry Adkisson found two or three listings for Eliza Gist, widow, and administrator of her deceased husband in the Cumberland Co., TN Court House. On one deed dated 1869, G.W. Derossett is listed as her attorney and he co-signed with her. Her daughter, Emily, born c. 1847/48 at Grassy Cove, Cumberland Co., TN, died in 1923 in Cumberland Co., TN. Emily married a Ford.
