    2. Gary, Thanks for the info. When I was there last month, I didn't brave the weeds and snakes to go back into the cemetery. I hoped to go back after the first good freeze and try to get over to it. I did talk to a Beaty who lives nearby. He is 60ish and said he played in and around the cemetery as a child. He recalls only 2 or 3 headstones standing even then. He couldn't remember the other name on the stones, but doesn't think there were stones for any Travis. Although the cemetery is next to the old Travis property and is most probably the final resting place of most of the early Travis family, including Revolutionary War veteran Thomas Travis who died in 1837, I'm afraid we won't get much more info there -- even with a lot of machetes. 3. Nel, Please let me know what you find when you go back to the Travis Cemetery. I would love to have photos of any Beaty or Travis stones you might find. I was hoping to get over there in the spring, but what you find may save me the trouble of looking for that cemetery. I do however, want to visit the Beaty cemetery while I'm there and do some research in Albany. It's a long way, from Oklahoma City, and I will only have one or two days there, so what you find at the Travis Cemetery, might save me a little time.
