Gary, I stopped by the Cargile place in Jamestown yesterday and asked Willard Cargile about the grist mill stones. They are a part of a collection of stones that his father, Ralph Cargile collected from all over. The particular stones there cannot be identified as to the mill that they came from. However, did you happen to see the big wheel that he has set into the upper part of the end of the garage building? It is a cut away of the top half of the pulley wheel, and he has put it behind plexiglass. Stop by and see it sometime. Willard has some interesting stories that I plan to get from him when I can go up and sit down with him after work hours. I did not find the stones that you said were just outside of Burnside, KY. Did you say that they were on highway 90 west of the lake, or no? I may have been looking in the wrong spot. Willie
Willie, I will try to get the address of that millstone fence for you. It is a truly unique fence to say the least.
