My grandfather: John, Johnie, or Johnny Seale. Born January 1, 1887. There were two Seal(Seale) brothers that came to Owsley Co. in about the 1840s. They were Joseph and John King Seal. They were from Lee Co, Va or Hancock Co, TN. It's the same place, the borders just changed. I have come to believe that my grandfather most likely came from the John K. line, because when he attended Berea College in 1906/1907, his mailing address was Major, KY which was in the Island Creek area. John K. and his family lived in that area while Joseph and his family lived in the Booneville area. So I have wondered if maybe John K. was Johnie's grandfather. I don't know.
