    3. RESPONSE: Adding to the first bit of information regarding Nathan DUCK in Laurel Co., here is: MARRIAGE RECORD: SETTLES, Mark to DUCK, Permelia on Jan 14, 1839 SETTLES, William to DUCK, Elizabeth Monah on Nov 10, 1841 No doubt these are two dau's of Nathan DUCK, I would assume. Also, you might contact: Capt. Robert G. NICOL, USN retired at: captnicol@comcast.net who has some descendancy work on Ancestry.com regarding Permelia DUCK who he thinks is connected to your Nathan DUCK. I don't see a Nathan DUCK in NC early on. There are several Nathan DUCKS in Virginia. I am not related so far as I know. Joyce Taylor Collins La Palma, CA Message text written by INTERNET:KYCLAY-L@rootsweb.com >Hello Clay and surrounding counties Everyone has there brick wall, mine is Nathan Duck. He is my grt.grt grandfather, family tradition says he was born in England but the 1860 census says N.C. He is shown in household #785 with 25 acres, living alone. Age 78. I also found him owing the estate Davis Clark $20.00 in 1842. he had 2 daughters (one was my grt grandmother) and maybe one son with the same name (this Nathan served in the civil war and was wounded in the leg) His grandson said he was buried on "Red Bird" in Clay Co. and that is a very ambiguous location to say the least. If anyone can offer me additional information I would be most grateful. Leta in Wa state <
