Anybody with confirmed information, please jump in here -- I will send what I have, but it isn"t my research -- I'm hoping I'm not leading anyone astray :) : I show Lucinda Metcalf to be the daughter of Hezekia and Rebecca (Elliott) Metcalf. She married Levi Hensely about 1830 in NC (probably Yancey Co). After Lucinda's death around 1839, Levi married Lucinda's sister, Nancy Ann. William "Sleepy Bill" Hensley married Elizabeth "Betsy" Metcalf about 1843 in TN. I show this Elizabeth to be born around 1827. I'm hoping someone will have some information on this Elizabeth -- This is one of my Hensley lines, and I've had difficulty finding information both on William and on Elizabeth as well (I don't even have parents for Elizabeth, but I don't show her as a daughter of Hezekiah and Rebecca. I don't have the parents of this William, either -- but he lives between Benjamin and Levi Hensley on the 1850 Clay Co, KY census. Levi does have a brother William, but it isn't this one. Hello Sharon, I've had extreme difficulty with this line too. Wm Hensley and Elizabeth Metcalf were the parents of Mary J. Hensley, born 4/14/1855, my husband's maternal great grandmother. I have no parents listed for Elizabeth, but have considered Wm. to be the son of James Hensley bn ca 1779 VA and Nancy Anderson bn ca 1789 VA. This may be incorrect. I'd appreciate any information about these two lines. Mary J. Hensley married Richard Scalf and their daughter, Martha Jane married Joseph Shorter. Their daughter, Flossie, bn 1916, married John Hubbard, bn 1913. Flossie and John were my husband's parents.
