Do you have any siblings listed for Mary J Hensley? I am also having difficulty finding the parents of Mary's mother Elizabeth Metcalf b abt 1815 (I am a Metcalf family researcher and their connection, by married, to the Elkins and Hensons of Laurel Co KY). I am thinking Elizabeth Metcalf may be a sister to Susan Ann Metcalf b abt 1820 who married Benjamin Hensley, or to a John Metcalf b abt 1812 who married Sarah Ann Hensley, or to a Lucinda Metcalf b abt 1814 who married a Levi Hensley, or a Jesse Metcalf who married Nancy Hensley b abt 1818. Wonder if there is any connection of Elizabeth Metcalf to any of these other Metcalfs of Clay Co KY who also married into the Hensley family line?
