Hi Nancy: Thanks for the reply. My Esther Barrett married George W. Gibson August 1861 in Owsley County. This was her only marriage. It's quite possible there is a connection because Esther seems to be a popular name in the Barrett family. I have only been able to go back to Esther's father Jesse Barrett, Sr. who was born in 1796.
