I also sent this to a couple of other lists so you may see a repeat…sorry for any inconvenience. I need help in finding someone researching these lines: Brock, Howard, Teague, Payne and Blanton. Last year while researching in Knox and Clay Co., KY, I made a copy of the front pages of a complied Knox Co., KY, census. I failed to write down which census it was, but right now that is not my main concern. It was compiled by a Rev. George Washington Blanton. In his note to researchers he mentions mistakes to be aware of i.e., his grandmother, Sarah Jordan Teague, daughter of Thomas Jordan and Abigail Payne, was listed on Sarah’s death record that her mother was Abie Hinkle instead of Abigail Payne. Sarah and Thomas are MY great great grandparents. Rev. Blanton also states that Jesse Brock (3/4 Cherokee Indian) is his “third great-grandfather”, and that Rebecca Howard Brock is Jesse’s wife. He also stated that Jesse died June 13, 1843 and Rebecca died after the 1840 census. He also says “most places” have he and his wife both dying in the late 1830s, when both are listed on the 1840 Harlan County, Kentucky census. Now with all that being said, does anyone know Rev. Blanton or know who his parents are so I can make that connection with him through Sarah? I have the children of Sarah Jordan Teague and her husband John as: Esther, Martha, Nabe, Mary Abigail, Louisa J., Reuben, Woodson, Isaac Thomas and John Lesley (not in birth order). Also, does anyone have him in their family tree as to his lineage with Jesse and Rebecca. I am hoping to also make a connection through his Brock line as I have never been able to do so through Jesse and Rebecca. All help would be appreciated. Thanks, Donna Brock McDermit Greencastle, IN
