The part of Island Creek that I am speaking of is off Highway 11, There is a junction there that goes to Island City and up Island Creek..Could be the same creek just a different area. The general area used to be called Conkling and my Aunt and Uncle, Lester and Fanny Parker Wilson ran a little store near there and post office.. When I was born you had to cross the river to Grandma and Grandpa's in a boat..Now a little farther past Conkling you can go across the river on Wolf Creek bridge then up lower river road to where they lived. What a change..
