RESPONSE: Hello, Renee, Harlan Town would be a small community in Harlan Co., KY in the southeastern part of KY. Lots of people who lived in Harlan Co. worked in the coal mines there. West of Harlan Co. is Bell Co., KY. East of Harlan and the next state over is VA, Lee Co. Basically immediately south of Bell Co. is Claiborne Co., TN. I tried to pick up the Louise/Louisa and some of the other children on the 1930 but was unable to locate them. Perhaps they were either out of the state or she married or was with someone and they are listed under another surname.
