CLIFTON BAKER (http://www.nsb-observer.com/index2.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=18476&pop=1&page=0&Itemid=31#) Clifton Baker, 82, of Monroe Drive, Edgewater, died Saturday, May 19, 2007, at Bert Fish Medical Center, New Smyrna Beach. Born in Clay County, Ky., Mr. Baker, an independent trucker, came to this area in 1960 from Ross, Ohio. He was a member of the VFW Post #4250, the Shriners, and The Masonic Temple (Purple Heart Sect), all in New Smyrna Beach. Mr. Baker was also a member of First Pentecostal Church of Sanford, and enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting, and camping. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II under Gen. Patton and received the Purple Heart. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Nancy; two daughters, Nancy Jo (Glen) of Edgewater and Paula Jane Sparr (Chris) of Ormond Beach; four sons, Clifton Jr. (Carolyn) of Titusville, John and Joel, both of Edgewater, and Ernie (Jennifer) of Palm Coast; two brothers, Robert Lee and Herbert, both of California; sister, Virgie of Ohio;; 11 grandchildren, Dawn, Erin, John, Joshua, Louella, Brodie, Tisa, Jason, Brooke, E.J., and Kaitlyn; 13 great-grandchildren, Trevor, Taylor, Madison, John, Isobel, Dillon, Mack, Hannah, Bethany, Carson, Aubrey, Noel, and Zachary. Funeral service will be 9 a.m. Friday, at Settle-Wilder's New Smyrna Beach Chapel with Pastor Ron R. Reinhardt II, First Pentecostal Church of Sanford, officiating. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Florida National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 111 N.
