You can do a rubbing of the headstone - put a piece of white paper on the headstone and take a pencil and rub it over the paper - the engravings will appear on the paper and then you can read the info. Also, I have heard of people using a piece of chalk - just rub it on the headstone. It washes right off with the rain. Good luck.
