Hi Joyce, Thank you for a very informative email. It's nice to run into people like yourself who have a passion to help others. Out of all the replies, which wasnt many, you seemed the most interested in trying to help and I just wanted you to know that it did not go unnoticed. Thank you very much. Yes, John & Mazie have been quite the mystery for sometime now. Since I sent this post to rootsweb a few weeks ago, I was fortunate enough to stumble across my Mothers second cousin on ancestry.com. Turns out she had seen some things I had posted to another site and she had been looking for me for a year. She had alot of good information to share with me and even had 2 photos of John McDaniel....and since I had never seen a picture of him or had no idea what he even looked like, needless to say, I was just extremely excited!!! She and alot of other researchers feel the same way you do.....we dont think Celia McDaniel was married and her children were given her last name. I dont know if we will ever solve the mystery. Mazie is another mystery....John remarries in Rockcastle county in 1899 to a Julie Ann Pointer but we cant figure out what happened to Mazie. Anyway, thank you so much for all your efforts.
