    2. Hi, My Ramsey line was also from North Carolina. I have found them in Yancey County North Carolina. You can search that county web site and look through old census records. I feel like you will be able to find some information there. There is also a town named after this family. It is called Ramseytown. My ancestors are Thomas Ramsey and wife Susanna Smith Ramsey. They later moved to the Laurel area and then settled in an area of Sexton's Creek in Clay County. If you don't have any luck searching in Yancey County, please try the surrounding county of Buncombe. I feel confident you will find some good information at one of those sites. 3. Carol, Thanks for the info. I have William Rogers as born about 1771 and Nancy about 1776. I came up with the following children for William Rogers: 1. Elizabeth b. 1794-96 2. George H. b. Feb 9, 1800 3. Sarah b. May 4, 1801 4. Catherine b. 1803 5. John M. b. ca 1804 6. Jacob S. b. May 24, 1811 7. Nancy b. ca 1814 8. William b. May 20, 1816 9. Abner about 1818 The 1810 and 1820 Clay Co. census confirms this is the right number of kids and right approximate ages. Of course they are only estimates until we find proof somewhere else. I didn't find them for 1830. Thanks again, Judy carol a hornsby wrote: >Hi! 3. Judy Vietri, I am a Rogers family researcher. I have William and Nancy Holcomb-Rogers in my data-base, showing them as the parents of Elizabeth. Do you have any of Elizabeth's siblings names/etc that you could share with me? Thank you. 3. Hi Lorraine, I'm working on the Rogers clan and have the following: Thomas Hornsby m. Elizabeth Rogers by 1816 so that would probably be married in Buncomebe Co., NC. unless you found them in Clay Co. marriage records. In the 1820 Clay Co., KY census they had 2 children. I have Elizabeth as born 1794-1796 based on census records. Elizabeth Rogers was the daughter of William Rogers and Nancy Holcomb. Sorry I am not more help. 3. I have a couple of items to add to this group of names. I didn't see info on them on the book. 1. Mary Hensley b. 2-20-1795 in NC m. Henry Wild about 1816. Could this be a sister to the 3 brothers? She's buried in Ray Co., MO 2. Elizabeth Rogers b. ca 1795 m. Thomas L. Hornsby about 1816 in Buncombe Co., NC. They are in 1850 Clay Co.KY. Index at ancestry has their last name as Homsley. Did Sarah & Elizabeth marry Hornsby brothers? Thanks, Judy LORRAINE MOFFAT wrote: >Hello: Sarah Robinson Hornsby married Samuel Hensley in 1856, Clay County. In the 1860 Clay County census she was living with Samuel and step-children.
