RESPONSE: Geri, I know Cassy SOMMERS is also related to Simon DELPH , School Superintendent, Bell Co. on her DELPH side. Elhannon SIZEMORE had outside of marriage a child, Wilson HOWARD who all his adult life used the surname, TAYLOR. Wilson HOWARD's parents were Lucy HOWARD and Elhannon SIZEMORE during one of his "unmarried" periods. When Lucy HOWARD married in Nov. 1895 to my g-grandfather, Harrison TAYLOR, she brought Wilson "Wilse" HOWARD with her and he shows there with them on the 1900 Knox Co. Fed. Census. We also believe Elhannon married Mary TAYLOR (dau Alexander TAYLOR and Amelia HUBBARD who was actually fathered by a GAMBREL). Alex TAYLOR was my g-grandfather's younger brother. Oh, what a tangled web these families of our weaved and left us to attempt to figure out! But what a bunch of fascinating characters they were. Not a dull one in the bunch. Joyce Taylor Collins La Palma, CA p.s. I will go through later and see what else I might add in. RESPONSE: To the person who requested information on Martha SIZEMORE and J. A. BURNS, the information below was sent to me directly by Hildegard HENDRICKSON, a long-time researcher of the ASHER and associated family. It may contain information you can use. I am also noting that Martha's parents are being listed as Farmer SIZEMORE and Emily Jane REYNOLDS which is the information I found in the census and which is what is outlined below but another SIZEMORE family is also being indicated, I've noted. I have no information to state which one is correct. All I do know was that in the 1880 Clay Co. Fed. Census, only Martha, age 5 listed with Farmer SIZEMORE made any sense. All the other Martha's were 15 years old or thereabouts or were married. Perhaps someone else has further documentation. RESPONSE: For the person who asked about the first wife of John A. Burns, and adding to Cosetta's information, I have checked the 1880 Clay Co. Fed. Census for "Martha" SIZEMORES. There are perhaps 5 or 6 Martha SIZEMORES, all of them either married or 13-15 years of age. One, however, is 5 years old and "may or may not" be the correct Martha SIZEMORE you are lookin for. If she is the correct one, here is that listing: Dwelling 244-244 SISEMORE, Farmer, 33, b. KY; parents b. KY . .Jane, 31, b. KY; parents b. KY . .John L., 11, son, b. KY . .Letcher, 7, son, b. Farmer SIZEMORE was a son of Willis Combs SIZEMORE and Nancy COLLETT. On the 1880, Farmer is listed living next to two of his siblings, Letcher and Elhannon SIZEMORE.
