Can someone tell me who Myrtle Mills b. Sep 8, 1916 married? I know that it was a Jervis but can't seem to locate his name. I am also wondering if the Jervis family isn't a different spelling from the Jarvis family that was in Knox County. Thanks, Cassy. -- Please check out my new free genealogy site. The Elizabeth Hinkle that William Hinkle and Louisa Ann Hacker died at infancy. I have no birth or death date of Elizabeth, according to my records she was William & Louisa 1st born child, then is was Nancy, Thomas and John. Remember Susannah Treadway and William Born 1803 was never married. But Louisa Ann Hacker and William Hinkle born 1803 were married December 30 1844 in Clay Co.,Ky. Any marriage bonds or death certificates or pictures I would like to share. I have a picture of William Hinkle & Susannah Treadway's son James Madison Hinkle which is my GGG Grandfather, I received this picture from Great Grandson of James Madison Hinkle Carl Sumner, son Fannie Elizabeth Hinkle and James Sherman Sumner. I have a Elizabeth Hinkle born 1864 which is William Hinkle & Susannah Treadway's granddaughter, which her father is Henry Hinkle and her mother is Nancy Edwards. Would this be more logical? Here is something out in my message below. William and Susannah when they meet Susannah had a sone born out of wedlock Robert Peter Treadway Hinkle, he was 3 years old when William and Susannah meet. So there are children going by Treadway and Hinkle. Robert Peter Treadway's daughters took the Hinkle surname when they married how many of those daughters did that I do not know. Rumor has it Robert Peter Treadway Hinkle was a very mean person. Robert Peter Treadway is buried at theHinkle Cemetery in Knox Co., Kentucky, if there is anyone out to confirm this please let me know. There is also a Hinkle Post Office down the road from The Hinkle Cemetery. And alsoin the Census Robert used his surname Treadway but most of his children uses the surname Hinkle. Any one out there would like to add please do so. Needing to REALLY KNOW WHO WAS William Hinkle's mother? was it Nancy Haggins and was Aaron Tucker or Michael "Micah" Hinkle Jr. is father? These are needed to to be found out. Could change the blood line family forsure but have to find out. Many Hinkle's have out they are not a Hinkle BUT a Tucker! Thanks for your reply to my message I hope I was able to help you. RESPONSE: Kay, With regard to Preston HENDRICKSON who also married Hannah SIMPSON on October 4, 1898, did I ever tell you who Hannah's parents were? Hannah SIMPSON b. abt. 1869 in most prob. Leslie Co., shows up with her mother on the 1880 Leslie Co. Fed. Census. Her mother was Rebecca SIMPSON. Hannah's father from what I have been told was my g-grandfather, Harrison TAYLOR (b. 1836; d. 1904) who was a married man. The information was contained in an old Bible record and the info passed on to me. With regard to the Elizabeth HINKLE who married Preston HENDRICKSON , the most logical fit is that she was the dau. of James Madison HINKLE b. Jan. 4, 1831; mar. abt. 1846 to Talitha or Telitha HALE. Later Lelitha married Palestine WALKER and was shown as a widow at that point in time. I have no definitive proof this is so, however. James Madison HINKLE would have been a s/o William HINKLE b. abt. 1803 and Susan/Susannah TREADWAY. I am researching information about the parents of Jobe Allen Kelly. I always thought his parents were William Kelly and Ailey Allen. Now I'm told they are his grandparents. Any relatives with definite information about his out there please? Txgrammye@aol.com
Yes any information of Hinkle's living in and near counties of Kentucky. Main Hinkle would be William Hinkle who was born 1803 in North Carolina and died in Clay County Kentucky March 1, 1880. William lived with a woman Susannah Treadway, Susannah and William split up early 1840's, they had 5 children: Anthony b 1827 in NC, Henry b 1829 in Tenn., James Madison b January 4, 1831 in North Carolina,{my GGG Grandfather} Meliann b 1834? and Peter b 1835 in North Carolina. William meet and married Louisa Ann Hacker parents Claiborne Hacker & Action Roberts, December 30, 1844 in Clay County, Kentucky. They had 4 children: Elizabeth died in infancy, Nancy b, unknown, Thomas b. unknown and John born July 25, 1851 all children where born in Clay County,Kentucky. Main QUESTION is trying to find out who WAS William Hinkle's mother truly is? Is it really NANCY HAGGINS? Who was William Hinkle's FATHER? MICHAEL HINKLE JR. OR AARON TUCKER. There is a question is William born 1803 Michael or! Aaron's son and his Nancy ihis mother? Nancy and Michael was never married. Aaron Tucker went to the courts and had divorce petition drawn up,but the divorce was never granted meaning they was never married either. Nancy and Aaron had three children together and Nancy was pregnant with a third child, was born shortly after she left Aaron and went with Michael Hinkle. So any one that could help would be greatly appreciated. I and many other HINKLE AND OR TUCKERS would like to resolve this ON GOING QUESTION, THAT HAS BEEN HAUNTING FOR MANY MANY HUNDREDS OF YEARS. Court house records was destroyed so they only way to find any information would be thur old newspaper obituaires, wills if any was recorded, I know there is a way, but which way do we go to find this UNANSWERED QUESTION OR QUESTIONS, Would anyone know where Susannah Treadway was buried, William died in Clay County,Kentucky so mAY SOMEONE KNOWS THE CEMETERY HE IS LAID TO REST AND OF COURSE HIS WIFE Louisa Ann Hacker ! Hinkle. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME THUR THE KYCLAY-L@ROOTSWEB.COM OR MY E-MAIL ADDRESS jsiders@ameritech.net. Thanks in Advance Lisa Hinkle Siders Away around a "BRICKWALL" is to keep digging!
Researcher McHone has David Barrett as the first to enter Clay County thru TN from NC. He has David as probable Father to my Jesse Barrett b. 1796 in TN, Jane Barrett b. 1786 in TN, Isham Barrettt and Murrell. Jane married Rev. James Anglin c1804. Others have the parents of Jesse and Jane as William & J. Barrett from NC. I found a William Barrett listed on the NC Pension Rolls 1835, Moore County, Private, NC Militia. Pension started 4/20/1834 at his age of 79. This is an on-going project. Hope we can clear-up the questions. P S Esther Barrett's father was John Barrett.
It is likely that Esther was Jesse's sister. It has been accepted by Morris family members that Esther was the wife of William. Unfortunately, we have been unable to prove it yet! Would you like the names of their children? William is reported to have been at Boonesborough. His name is there at the state park. Were any of the Barretts there? I'm sure there must be a connection. Were your Barretts from N C.? Nancy
Hi Nancy: Thanks for the reply. My Esther Barrett married George W. Gibson August 1861 in Owsley County. This was her only marriage. It's quite possible there is a connection because Esther seems to be a popular name in the Barrett family. I have only been able to go back to Esther's father Jesse Barrett, Sr. who was born in 1796.
