Kandy - what are the vital statistics for Dora Brock and Millard Webb? The JW Mau - could be John W. Maupin who married Nancy Rogers - daughter of John Martin Rogers and Lavica Barrett. They moved out of Clay County for Madison County during the trouble with the Bakers and Whites. John brother George ( my 3 time great grandfather) was a Marshall in Clay County During that time frame. He moved his tribe out to Missouri to escape the trouble.
Do you know about what year this was with Nancy Hamblin. Do you know who her parents were? Nancy
It may be possible that my great grandfather, JOHN BROCK & JOHN M. BROCK are one in the same. His parents may be MARTIN BROCK & CHARLOTTE OLIVER and he may have been born in the year 1844. I have no way in knowing if this is the same person. Martin Brock may have lived in CLARK County at times also. Any more ideas? I'd love to see what newspaper clippings there are of him. I do have the marriage certificate of DORA BROCK & MILLARD WEBB, on this REV. JOHN W. RICHARDSON (that's what it looks like,) minister of the Gospel of the Missionary Baptist, performed the marriage dated SEPT. 18, 1918 at JOHN BROCK s, certif. 46, as witness J. H. HORNSBY & R. H. FREEMAN, LIC ENSE issued by J. W. MAU???, CLERK OF THE COUNTY COURT OF madsion. Also I see what appears to be the word " vogel" or "voyel" near the place where it has a blank spot then the word, Kentucky. Is this a place in KY? On the back of the certificate is my grandmother, Dora's Handwriting: Albert Webb, born June 28,1919 Allen Webb was borned May 25, 1921 Fairy Lane Webb was borned March 5, 1925 Russel Le Webb born June 4, 1929 Etta Jean Webb born DEC 20, 1931 My mother was FAIRY. I know that another child, Doyle was born later to DORA & MILLARD, he still lives in Dreyfus, KY, near the old Bark Rd. so my search still goes........................is JOHN BROCK and JOHN M. BROCK the same? Kandy Campbell Fitzpatrick
I haven't searched Whitley County. I will do that. I find only one John Young, s/o Reece Young in my little file. He lived and died in Knott County. What is the elder's birth year? Reece and Wms' father was Drury Young. Don't have anything further back that him at the moment. We probably will connect all these Ky Youngs together later on. I'll put your line in my file and keep an eye out for him. Ann On Thu, 10 Jul 2003 02:44:40 -0400 "bridget perez" <bridget42653@hotmail.com> writes: > James Young is a familiar name to me also. Joann, I found a James Young being a son of Thomas Young and Elizabeth. This James was born about 1830 in Va. He died in Breathitt co. Ky in 1886 He married Sally Emaline Caudill in 1850. James had a brother John, Thomas, and Isaac. Do you have other names, dates, etc? I've got a lot on Reece and William. I haven't be able to connect the old Thomas to them. Drury seems to be the head of all these local Youngs. There has to be a tie in somewhere. I come through both Reece and Wm. James and John is such a common name, but I haven't found one yet. Let me know other names and dates. ok? Ann

Isaac Young married Mary Polly Combs. Isaac said to be a son of Thomas Young. The problem here is who was Mary Polly's father? Tradition says he was Jesse Combs, but she isn't included in the listings of his children. This is who my friend is looking for. I descend from the two brothers, Reece and William Young. I understand Drury Young and Nancy Madden were their parents. Who is Drury? I don't know anything about him. Linda, Another good resource for a very detailed map of Clay county is at the Department of Transportation in Manchester. This map shows all the little roads but also the cemeteries and the Churches in the county. The D.O.T is located across the bridge just before downtown Manchester.
