Donna, and others, I can take George Washington Blanton back to Sarah Ann Jordan and John Teague. The Brock connection must have been on his fathers side of the family as I don't find that at all. This is what I have and I would love additions or corrections. George Washington Blanton is the s/o James Garfield Blanton and Esther Teague James is the s/o Calvin Fee Blanton and Angeline Osborne (no further info on either) Esther Teague is the d/o John Teague and Sarah Ann Jordan. John Teague is the s/o Isaac Teague and Mary Ann McGuire Sarah Jordan is the d/o Thomas L. Jordan and Abagil Payne. -- Please check out my new free genealogy site. I am currently looking for others willing to share their photographs as well. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~foe3643/

Dear Donna, Oops! I meant to say Blanton, not Saylor in my previous note. Diane
Dear Donna, Have you had contact with Sue Morrow Hornung or visited her web site? She has a lot of info on the families you've mentioned. I also have a lot of Brock info which contains Howard and Saylor info I would gladly share. Contact me off list. Diane
I also sent this to a couple of other lists so you may see a repeat…sorry for any inconvenience. I need help in finding someone researching these lines: Brock, Howard, Teague, Payne and Blanton. Last year while researching in Knox and Clay Co., KY, I made a copy of the front pages of a complied Knox Co., KY, census. I failed to write down which census it was, but right now that is not my main concern. It was compiled by a Rev. George Washington Blanton. In his note to researchers he mentions mistakes to be aware of i.e., his grandmother, Sarah Jordan Teague, daughter of Thomas Jordan and Abigail Payne, was listed on Sarah’s death record that her mother was Abie Hinkle instead of Abigail Payne. Sarah and Thomas are MY great great grandparents. Rev. Blanton also states that Jesse Brock (3/4 Cherokee Indian) is his “third great-grandfather”, and that Rebecca Howard Brock is Jesse’s wife. He also stated that Jesse died June 13, 1843 and Rebecca died after the 1840 census. He also says “most places” have he and his wife both dying in the late 1830s, when both are listed on the 1840 Harlan County, Kentucky census. Now with all that being said, does anyone know Rev. Blanton or know who his parents are so I can make that connection with him through Sarah? I have the children of Sarah Jordan Teague and her husband John as: Esther, Martha, Nabe, Mary Abigail, Louisa J., Reuben, Woodson, Isaac Thomas and John Lesley (not in birth order). Also, does anyone have him in their family tree as to his lineage with Jesse and Rebecca. I am hoping to also make a connection through his Brock line as I have never been able to do so through Jesse and Rebecca. All help would be appreciated. Thanks, Donna Brock McDermit Greencastle, IN
Kelly, Thank you so much for your dedication and hard work. This keeps Clay County present and alive for those that are geographically far removed from the area. As you well know it also resurrects the history of our beloved ancestors which may have been forgotten. Once again, thank you, Catherine (Johnson, Smith, Broughton, Hammond, Scalf, etc) Flores USGENWEBber@aol.com wrote: Hello Everyone, Just a note to let you know that I have began to rebuild the Clay County web site and it can now be viewed at http://www.rootsweb.com/~kyclay/ Please be patient though.... I missed that site. Could you please show it again? Nell E. Lamantia Miamisburg, Ohio http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/l/a/m/Nell-E-Lamantia/index.html
The vital statistics that I have for my grandparents are as follows, I have Dora Brock born in July of 1898. Her parents were John Brock & Fannie Margaret Crutcher. Millard Webb was born Oct. 3, 1897 & died Dec. 23, 1971. His parents were Thee Webb & Sally Hensley. Both of my grandparents died in Ohio & are buried at the Woodhill Cem. in Franklin, Ohio, Warren County. My family also left the county due to the feud. After all Thee's parents were Julius Webb & Mahalia Baker. I am soon stuck in finding the parents of John Brock, relatives of Martin Brock think that he is not the son of Martin. He had to be born to someone!!!!!! Sincerely, Kandy Campbell Fitzpatrick
