Perhaps someone more knowledgeable with the family can help you further. I do see in the Clay Co. marriage Index, this other marriage as follows: ROBINSON, Edward to PHIPPS, Mary T. on 30 Dec 1866, File 13 That could be his second marriage after their divorce as indicated above. The Brock connection must have been on his fathers side of the family as I don't find that at all. This is what I have and I would love additions or corrections. George Washington Blanton is the s/o James Garfield Blanton and Esther Teague James is the s/o Calvin Fee Blanton and Angeline Osborne (no further info on either) Esther Teague is the d/o John Teague and Sarah Ann Jordan. John Teague is the s/o Isaac Teague and Mary Ann McGuire Sarah Jordan is the d/o Thomas L. Jordan and Abagil Payne. -- Please check out my new free genealogy site. 3. Hi Guilda, I do have Job Broughton in my ancestry. It is nice to hear from you. I visited Knox County, Ky last October and Delmer Bright was gracious enough to take me to the gravesite of Job Broughton. I didn't know anything about this side of my family until approx 2 years ago. It is so thrilling to learn about our family. I also descend through Victoria Smith m.Enos Johnson (my father's parents). Victoria's parents being Marcum Smith m. Carrie Cole. Marcum Smith's parents being William Broughton m. Mariah Green. This gives me 2 lines of descent within the same Broughton family. My other side, my initial Job Broughton lineage finding, is from Martha Broughton m. Nasby Johnson. The child of Nasby and Martha being my grandfather, Enos Johson, listed above. My father's name was Chiseal Johnson m.Joyce Fay Bond, my mother. Do you live within the Knox Co area? Catherine DonaldTeague@cs.com wrote: Hi Catherine, I noticed you had Broughton in your line. I have a Job, Woodard & Julia, born about 1809, that married a Russell Bowling, who had my GG Gran'ma Amanda Bowling who married Samuel George. Would these be any of your's? Thanks, Guilda

    3. Your Edward Robinson was the son of Charles Robertson. This was his first family and we don't know who is wife was. He had: William b. 1807, Charles, Jr. b. 1813 (my ancestor), Russell b. 1814, Edward b. 1821, Elisha b. 1824. Then he married Mary Ann Yeager and had Sarah Ann. b. 1844, Milly b. 1845, Elizabeth Jane b. 1849, John b. 21 Feb 1853, and Mary L. b. 20 May 1854. Charles died in 1854, probably around Laurel Co., KY. He was the son of: Julius Robertson b. 1755 d. bef 12/26/1818 m. Sarah Shelton b. 1755 d. 1810 Charles Robertson b. 7/24/1733 d. bef 10/1798 m. Susannah Nichols b. 1742 d. bef 10/13/1806 (The above Charles Robertson signed the Watauga Petition) Israel Robertson b. 1698-1700 d. bef 8/12/1760 m. Sarah William b. 1699 d. aft 8/12/1760 Nicholas Robertson b. 1665-1667 d. aft 5/12/1718 m. Sarah Marks d. aft 1702 The Robinson/Robertson name is used almost interchangeably. The family started out from what we know in Prince George Co., VA, then to Granville Co., NC, Buncombe Co., Washington Co., TN, and eventually to Clay Co., KY. An interesting note here...my ancestor was Melvina Robertson who married John Ward Kelly. Her father was Charles Robertson, Jr. who was married to Catherine Shelton. He died in 1853 or so and Catherine Shelton married L. Julius Spivey. Julius Spivey's mother was Susannah Robertson, who was sister the Charles Robertson who was Catherine's father-in-law. So, Melvina was raised with three children who were not only her half brother and sisters but also her cousins.
