Right at this moment I can't tell you but will find out from my cousin. I know they lived on the Island Creek Road of Ky 11. not to far up on the left hand side of the road. My Grandmother Parker was living with them there when I last saw her many years ago. My gg grandfather was George W. Henson b.1799 and was living in Laurel county in the mid 1800s. He eventually moved on to MO and to AR where he died and is buried. I and several other researchers have been trying for some time to determine who his parents were without success. There are so many Williams in the Henson/Hinson family that it is quite a job sorting them all out. I am not sure where the William that you mentioned fits in with all the others. One of the best candidates for George's father was a William b. in the 1750s. My son, myself, my father, my g grandfather and probably my ggg frandfather are all named William so I guess the confusion will continue into the next century. Another good candidate is Elisha Hinson b. 1776 but I can find nothing on him. One of the best sources for Henson/Hinson family info that I know is Roaten E. Hinson Jr. roaten@prodigy.net. He is always loking for other Hinsons to share info with. Will holly <rosiegood@earthlink.net> wrote:Hi Will Im holly. I've been looking for someone with the henson name for a while now. The part of Island Creek that I am speaking of is off Highway 11, There is a junction there that goes to Island City and up Island Creek..Could be the same creek just a different area. The general area used to be called Conkling and my Aunt and Uncle, Lester and Fanny Parker Wilson ran a little store near there and post office.. When I was born you had to cross the river to Grandma and Grandpa's in a boat..Now a little farther past Conkling you can go across the river on Wolf Creek bridge then up lower river road to where they lived.
