Hello Erma, You have definitely had better luck researching your Gray line than I have. My husband's Gray line has proven to be a tough nut to crack thus far. It is very frustrating, but that is what make it fun. Congratulations on proving your Patriot's line. I know how hard that is because I joined the DAR 11 years ago by proving my Willoughby line. The research was exhaustive, but well worth the result. When I first began asking questions of my older relatives, I was given a large charcoal portrait of my GG Grandfather which had been stashed in a great aunt's closet. Another "find" was a family Bible from ca 1870's that had been stored in a dilapidated dress box in an outbuilding at my aunt's home. My G Grandfather had written the names (including maiden names of females) and birth and death dates of his parents and grandparents. So, when people moan about all the work it takes to prove a line, I just smile and tell them you won't just be proving the line, but treasure hunting too!
