    2. Mr. Biggs, Thank you for inviting Christian County folks to join in the CWRT. As you will, and probably already have found; there are some of those who refer to the war as the Act of Northern Aggression. I can only say that I find it an interesting, yet sad, part of our history. Being a Christian County native who still claims the county as home, I'll say I am very interested in the Roundtable but cannot find the time to join in at this time. However, I wish you great success in your endeavor. Jean Clark ~~

    3. Back in the 1980's, my husband and I visited a 3rd cousin of his in North Carolina. Ruth, our hostess, and her husband took us on a tour of Fayetteville to point out former family homes, etc. The tour included a stop at the Presbyterian Church which had a small museum. A young male docent ushered us into the museum and in the course of his prepared speech, he mentioned the Civil War. Ruth drew herself up to her full 5 ft. 1 inch height, looked him in the eye, and said, "Young man! Don't you mean the WAR OF NORTHERN AGGRESSION?" The Civil War, by whatever name you choose to call it, is long past history. I prefer to think of us all - North, South, East and West - simply as AMERICANS. 3. I am nowhere near Christian County these days and it has been many a year since I have visited. That said, spending my earliest years in the south:..Kentucky, Georgia and Virginia, I know that the reasons for the war between the north and south, as reported and taught today, are sadly rewritten. I think when you are born of southern parents a bit of the south remains forever in your soul. Truth needs to be taught to the children of today. The War of Northern Aggression, the Civil War or the War between the States...................however one wishes to make reference, is a part of the history of this great nation. It was fought when many of the states that we live in now did not even exist (Washington did not become a state until November 11, 1889, nearly a quarter of a century after the war). I wish I was back there so I could join this group, call it what you may. Today we are a long way from what the founding father's of this nation had in mind for our country. A though study of the "Civil War" might actually bring us to a point of understanding how we got here. I am an American of southern parents born in the North (Ohio) and now residing in the great northwestern region of our beautiful country. 3. I hope my opinion does not anger anyone, as it is not meant to, but I see no reason to keep rehashing history. It happened---we were not there--we don't know all the facts of anything that happened in history---we only know the effects from things that occured. All the rehashing does, is make a division in people--family legends, whether right, or misconstrued---has no place in the way people are stuggling to bring peace in our time. We could grieve, or fight over history, or we can lay those *daggers* by the wayside, and learn to live now---in peace.
