For several years he had been in failing health, and for the last year has been in a dangerous state. All that skilled physicians could suggest and loving hands could do to stay the course of his disease, but in vain. In disposition, he was quiet, modest, unassuming and gentle, ever kind and courteous in his manner, he bound his friends to him by bands of steel. He was quite a devoted servant of the Lord and loved by all who knew him. In all the relations of life he filled his part well. He leaves a wife and several children to mourn his death.
