ELLIS, a prominent citizen of Hopkinsville, dropped dead last Saturday morning while attending to his usual every day business. He was the owner of an ice factory and was at work when he complained of not feeling well. A seat was handed to him which he took. He soon fell over dead without speaking again. Mr. ELLIS was about 50 years of age and married a Miss JAGOE, of this county. She was a sister of Elwood and Lonie JAGOE, Mrs. W.A. and Mrs. W.W. NISBET, all of this place. He was one of Hopkinsville's most prominent and influential citizens. He leaves a wife and four children. He also leaves a large estate. (Source: Madisonville Hustler, Tue., Aug. 31, 1897)
