The coroner has investigated the matter and has made a report to the effect that Miss Cammie RUSSELL came to her death from a pistol in her own hands, but could not determine whether it was suicide or accident. "One theory is that she went to the peach tree, which still had fruit upon it, to get some peaches, and took her father's pistol along to add to her feeling of security, as the tree was some distance from the house, and that the weapon went off accidently while she was carelessly handling it. "There is absolutely no conceivable cause for suicide. The victim was a happy, light-hearted school girl, sixteen years old just two days before, and surrounded by all the comforts and luxury her doting parents could bestow. She had not quarreled with anyone, she had no troubles that any one knew of, her mind was clear from any suspicion of insanity and she was bright, happy and cheerful when she parted from a party of young friends at ther father's gate fifteen minutes before her corpse was found. "Mr. RUSSELL, the dead girl's father, is vice-President of the Planters' Bank, President of the School Board and a prominent citizen." Later: From letters found on a table, it is believed that Miss RUSSELL committed suicide. She had made threats of taking her life. (Source: Madisonville Hustler, Fri., Oct. 18, 1895)
