He died in Houston Co TN Jan 16, 1887 leaving 6 children: Jane Elizabeth, Benjamin Franklin, Mary Anne, William Hunter , David Stuart and Virginia Ruth (the last married James Franklin Torian Mar 17, 1864; these are my paternal great grandparents). Jos Brewer’s obituary says he died Feb 27 1877 in Christian Co. in the 70th year of his life. I am looking for any information on the ancestors of Jas and Joseph Brewer. Their father’s name was Merideth Brown Brewer. He was born ca. 1770-1780 probably in NC (Virginia?) mar. Elizabeth Stuart, had at least 4 children: William A., Jas A., Joseph and David. Merideth Brewer came to Christian Co about 1808 and is mentioned in records there indicating he probably died around 1844. I haven’t been able to find out any more information on Merideth Brewer. His father (name unknown) died in the revolutionary war at the battle of Guilford Court House and is buried at Hillsborough North Carolina. Does anyone have any information at all on this Brewer line, especially Merideth Brewer and his father etc? Also, on the Stuart line, particularly Gravener Stuart? Thanks for any information.
