DAY, the night operator at Crofton, and wife of Agent DAY, departed this life after a brief illness, only being sick a few days. The deceased has for the past few years been in the employ of the L. & N. Company, and few operators on this division have gained a better reputation for faithfulness than she did. Always awake and ready for duty, no trainman was ever heard to complain of her, and the officials of the road held her in the highest exteem for the services she rendered, and expressions of sympathy for the bereaved family are heard on all sides.
