Will do, Virginia. Jean ~~~
Thanks again, Julie, With the added name of Anna Orten's father that Virginia sent, I might have enough ammunition to go hunting further, now. Jean ~~
Virginia, I'll try to help with your Thomas' if I can, here in the area. Trigg County is loaded with them. That's the next county west of Christian. Trigg was Christian up until 1820 when Trigg was formed from Christian and Marshall Counties I believe. Jean ~~
THANK YOU, JULIE! WHEW! I was just sitting here trying to write all of this down to sent to the list. Why do I have James Keltz birth April 10, 1872? I thought I got my info from you? Will you check yours again and tell me, please? I will go by yours as you did the research. I'm still convinced that my George and Anna Orten Parker are kin to this bunch. I just can't connect them. Jean ~~
1879 is what I have here. IF Lucinda Pendegrass was his mother... and I believe she was, then she and William Parker marred in November 22, 1876. James Keltz would have been their second child (after Mary Ann). I believe Lucinda would have been William Parkers first wife - he would have been abt.16 years old. (So surely she would have been his first wife!) James K was son of Wm Henry who was son of Hiram & Nancy Eli Parker. All were from Christian Co., but Wm. Henry later lived and died in Clarksville. I had a copy of his obit around here somewhere that listed all his children (with the exception of one who died in early life). Also, I do not have a George Parker in my database. This is one of the lines I need to do some more work on. Julie VCI WebMail http://www.vci.net

That would be most appreciated! My parents grew up in Hopkins County. My uncle, James William Thomas lived in Christian County until his passing in 1999. . My grandfather was William Clarence Thomas, son of Henry Elva Thomas, son of Samuel Henry Thomas born in Tennessee) , son William Robert Thomas (b. 1820 in Virginia, d. 1889 Caldwell County. This is my dead end. There are a ton of Thomases all over the place, but I have not been able to connect any of them to William Robert or his cousin, Christopher Columbus Thomas also born in 1820, either as parents or siblings. All help most appreciated! I believe you can get it from the Kentucky Historical Society if not, they can give you the Vital Statistics address.. I got a 1913 death certificate from them. Send them an email and see if they can copy it for you. Send then the vol # and certificate #. If you call them, ask for Ron Bryant. I can't get my hands on their email address but you might try this one: Tom.Stephens@mail.state.Ky.us If you don't belong to the Kentucky Historical Society, you might want to join. They have great publications and services. I have been a member for many years. Mary June
Sorting these Parkers can be a real pain.. But In Re James Keltz Parker, I have: (Jean -- he was 1/2 bro to Hettie Parker Gibbs- John's mother and Bessie's father ~Novies wife)) I have a DOB of 10 April 1879 in KY. Do not have DOD or place of burial. I have found him in Christian, Trigg, KY & Stewart Co. TN. He was son of William Henry Parker by one of his 4 or 5 wives. I think it was Lucinda Pendegrass. ~Thats the way I have him recorded anyway. When you have 19 children by 4 or 5 different wives it gets REAL confusing on us trying to figure it all out 100 years later. (I think he was a little confused too! ;-) He married Eldora Stough (1883 - 1943) in Oct 23, 1897 in Stewart Co. TN. They had 13 children: Minnie, Evie Cordelia (Deli), Curtis, Lee, Frank, Bessie, Doris, James Paul Monroe, Vergie, Margie, Mark Ewin, Wilber, and Beatrice. What else are you looking for? I guess I don't have anything on James K and his family at all. Sometimes I wonder if these people were on another planet and just touched down to create havoc in the future! Looking for? In the Parker line or in other lines? The Parker line ties into my family, but is not a direct line. It ties into my father's family in a lot of different places. However, that gets rally confusing too! My maiden name is Thomas. The Alexanders, Thomases, Behears, Mensers, Dillinghams, and a few million others all seem to connect to the Parkers in one way or another. The Thomas line is my biggest headache at the moment. It seems like there may be several different ones all in and around Hopkins, Christian, and Caldwell Counties. Some of them are related and some of them , well they are 'just' there, if you know what I mean. I have gotten off on may lines looking for marriages that will tie back into the main line, sometimes I am lucky, other times.....well let's just say I have more information than I need, but I get to help others, so it is worth it. Hopefully, in the future, I will get out of the US of A and on to Wales! Wish I could be of more help. I do have a lot of lines that tie into the Parker line, if there is anything else you might need in the future. Hi Jean, I am delighted to help you! Others have help me and enjoy returning the gift. I have been searching all over and cannot find James Keltz Parker. THANK YOU, VIRGINIA! I have been at a dead end on this family for seems like a hundred years. David Mancel, son of Geo and Anna Liza was married to my Mother's sister, Willie Mae Allen Battoe Parker. I live in Christian County and still can't find anything. Probably all due to the name being wrong in my files. What do you have on James Keltz Parker, please? Thank you SO much for the information on George and Anna. Hugs, Jean~~
Do you have anything on a George M. Parker and wife Annie Orten who had a son in 1912 by the name of David M Parker? His middle name was Mancel. TIA Jean ~~
What I have on the George Parker that married Anna Liza Orten is that his full name is George B. McCellan Parker. Anna Liza's father was Richard Mancell Orten. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Parker, Messamore Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.netscape.com/mbexec/msg/4317/mAB.2ACE/1777.1 Message Board Post: I am also researching the same family of Parker in Christian County. My husband is a descendant of William D. Parker (David M. Parker's son). I spent the weekend at Willard Library in Evansville, and have surmised that David M. Parker is Obadiah Parker's son. He is listed as David M. in the 1850 Christian County census. He is 18 years old. Both of David M.'s parents (according to other census records) were born in South Carolina, just as Obadiah and Marry (as it is spelled in 1850) are listed in 1850. The 1850 census lists many Parker's born in South Carolina. I'm wondering how they are related. They seem to be sisters and brothers. I can't tell for sure, except that in later census records, children are listed with households and marked as cousins. Do you have any information on that?
