    3. I think Priscilla Gilkey was married to another Young Long. As impossible as it might seem. Everything I have seen on her has them married in 1835. This is 6 years before the Young Long that married Susan Mary Hamilton was born. His parents, I believe were John and Susan Caltman Long. Possibly the Young Long that was married to Priscilla Gilkey was an uncle or something close to that. I do believe that 'our' Young Long was married more than one. Whether she was a Cansler or an Eli is not clear. She also could have been one and married the other before she married Young Long. I hope that is clear? (She might have been a Cansler and married and Eli first or the other way around.) Anyway, I have a son, Clyde Ernest Long that was born in 1897 and married Edna Lantrip born in 1904 and married in 1921. I am pretty sure his mother is not May Susan Hamilton as I was originally told. So we have a mystery. 1. [KYCHRIST] DAMRON/McCLAIN Connections
    2. pj Thompson
    3. We have established a close connection between our McCLAINs and the DAMRONs. Both families seem to be from NC via Ky and Tn and were early settlers in Gallatin Co, IL. Both families moved to Weakley Co, TN about 1823. Charles DAMRON was the executor of Charles McCLAIN's estate in 1846. There are several marriages to McCLAIN women noted in the DAMRON books. We just can't sort out which McCLAIN families they came from. If we can make these connections we can extend you our McCLAIN line back to 1711 in MD. Can you help us? Thank you. pj Thompson pj@apex.net Weakley County, Tn & Garry Brown gsbrown4@yahoo.com Albuquerque, NM McCLAIN cousins and VERY dedicated McCLAIN researchers..........

    1. [KYCHRIST] Obit Source
    2. U w o o d 2
    3. Just found an interesting source for obituaries. Some of you may already have/use this. http://www.legacy.com/ Searchable by name, state, newspaper, etc. Not all newspapers available, but there are many listed ~Especially larger cities. There is one problem that I encountered and I emailed the webmaster about it. When I click the link to a newspaper, it opened a new screen that was not resizable or scrollable and the last few obits did not show on my screen. The same when I clicked on an obit to read, the end of the obit was just off the bottom of the screen. However, using this service, I found out what newspaper the obit appeared in and could then go to their site and read it in its entirety. Hopefully, they will change this. Julie

Don't know if they are one and the same but one is listed in the will of John Hart June 1821 Henderson County Kentucky. Then I found a Rhoda Hart in Missouri 1850 census Jefferson County. That Rhoda Hart 47 b. Kentucky living with Jesse Kidd 27 who is married to Millissa 26 b. Ky They have a child age 2 named Rhoda (Frances?) Jefferson Co. Mo. marriages have William Adam Votaw married to Rhoda Frances Kidd dated June 3, 1866. The Votaws were from Kentucky also. The Votaws, Shults and Harts all end up in Fayette County Texas around 1854. I am trying to find out how John G. Hart and Rhoda Hart are related. John G. Hart met Martha C. Shults in Missouri (Jefferson Co.) and his brother, Nowell A,. named a daughter Rhoda so I think there is a connection. I think Rhoda may be the mother of these three brothers. (There is also one named Levi). Dop you know any information on Rhoda? Thanks
