    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Steele, Bozarth, Morgan Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/mAB.2ACE/2450 Message Board Post: I am looking for information on Andrew Steele and John Steele of White County TN. Andrew and John are in the 1820 census of White County. They are living very close to Levi Bozarth and family and he related Pierce family. Andrew is above 45 so he was born before 1775. I descend from his son Nathaniel G Steele who was born around 1804. Nathaniel Steele married Elizabeth Bozarth the daughter of his neighbor Levi Bozarth. Levi was married to Sarah Pierce b 1776 in Spartanburg South Carolina, who was supposed to be full blooded Cherokee. Levi and Sarah were married in Hardin County KY in 1802. I do not know much about Andrew Steele or who he married. Some have speculated that he is the son of Andrew Steele Sr. and Martha Buchanan but I have seen so much conflicting information. John Steele who was living next to Andrew Steele in 1820 was between 26 and 45 and I am assuming he is either a son or a younger brother. His oldest so was between 10 and 16 so the odds are that he is Andrew's son. Does anyone have any information on this family? In 1850 Nathaniel Steele and Elizabeth Bozarth were in Sumner County Tennesse. They had children William 1824 Levi 1830 Mary 1827 Joseph 1831 James 1833 Andrew 1836 Nathaniel 1838 Malinda 1840 John 1844 Nancy 1844 Ellen 1847 This family all but disappears after this census. William and Levi went to Christian Co Ky. and were in Trigg County KT by 1870. Mary married Greel L Clark and went to Butler Co Ky. Her sister Ellen lived with her in 1860. I have no idea what happened tothe rest of them after that that. Nathaniel and Elizabeth and there remaining 7 children seem to just disappear. does anyone have any info on them Thanks Cass Johnson

He married Cecilia Cissell (from the St. Charles Community in Carlisle County Kentucky); they had two daughters, Nancy Carol (my Mom) and Cecile Elaine. My grandmother, Cecilia, at 91, is still living in LaCenter, Kentucky. "Josh" had brothers Frank, Eulice, Sim, Henry, and sisters Pearl and Olva Bea. Pearl is still living in Cunningham, KY, not far from the Fenton Gupton family farm. Fenton was a tobacco farmer and then had a business where he brokered tobacco on Magee Springs, just outside Cunningham. The family home is still standing. Thanks, Sharman Hayden Booker

Surnames: McClellan, Humphrey, Vass Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/mAB.2ACE/729.1093 Message Board Post: in reply to: Looking for info on all the above surnames. Thomas Vass came to Christian Co in 1817 and the Vasses married into the above surnames. Need more info on a Samuel McClellan who married Susan B. Vass. Their children were Thomas A. Mary, and Alva. Samuel and Susan were founding members of the Vaughan United Methodist Church in Christian Co. My question: Did Alva McClellan marry Emmerson D. Humphrey? He later married Nancy Jane Ledford, my great-aunt. I have E.D. and Alva's bedroom furniture. Alva is buried in Riverside Cem. in Hopkinsville with dates: 2/14/1862-2/26/1905, name shown as L. Alva Humphrey. She and E.D. had 2 children who died as infants buried in Todd Co., Ky, Humphrey Cem., a girl 5/26/1884 and a boy 4/27/1887. As far as we know, they had no children who lived to adulthood. Thanks.

    3. Good News--Christian Co Genealogical Society is in the final stages of printing a new book of cemeteries in Christian Co. KY. Both of Mrs. Meador's books, plus the Riverside Cemetery book will be included, plus corrections and additions. Many cemeteries not previously found and listed will be included This has been a time-comsuming task but well worth the wait. It should be for sale before the end of the year. Keep in touch with the Gen. Society. Also it will be announced on the Christian Co. GenWeb page. -----Original Message----- From: Edward Jones [mailto:edsjones@hotmail.com] Sent: Thursday, October 23, 2003 6:59 PM To: KYCHRIST-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [KYCHRIST] Lookup in book "Riverside Cemetery 1836-1997" Can anyone tell me how to obtain a copy of this Riverside Cemetery book? 3. Dot, Thank u from the bottom of my heart!, no joke for three years I have been looking for that man. The only problem I can see is the birth date?? it's off by ten years 1875 and not 1865 common mistake?. All the rest fits? so how do I find out if the dates are incorrect? Is it a family plot ? What are the odds that there are two Charles Curtis with second marriage, wife Dazy, and a son William t.Curtis that died in California? Death certificate? Does the cemetery have a phone number? Do u think they might have a record? Help' Ginni

    3. In Re: Claiborne Dandridge West and wife Betsy I did not find any of the people you mentioned in the Riverside Cemetery Book. According to the book "Claiborne Dandridge West of Buckingham County, Virginia his ancestors and descendants" by Louetta West Wilson and John William Johnson both Claiborn and his wife Elizabeth are buried on "the West Plantation near Herndon, KY." (This book is in the Christian Co. Library in Hopkinsville) I looked in the Book "Cemetery Records of Southern Portion of Christian County" by Meador and I will give you what it says. WEST CEMETERY (this is the one near Herndon) Erected to Departed Worth Clabourn West November 15 1759-March 11, 1822 Elizabeth A. Wife of A. D. Davie formerly wife of C. West March 9, 1784-July 21, 1839 Clabourn D. West July 18, 1810-June 17, 1861 married Pauline H. Radford on October 8, 1829 married Mary M. Sargeant on July 31, 1833 Althea A. E. T. wife of C. D.
