Here is what I got from my Aunt when she and my Uncle were looking for the family a few years back. Not sure of some of the names and maybe they are not spelled right but I copied it the best I could. Vernon, KY Father-----Joe Montgomery Durham Grandfather-------James Jefferson Durham My great grandfather John Durham came to Casey County early in 1800. Was born Sept. 25th, 1796 (can't make out the place) when Washington was president. Was baptized June 9, 1816. He married Nancy Lucas December 27, 1819, daughter of John Lucas (Herman Luca's great grandfather) she was born Nov. 4,1801 and died Aug 30, at 10:15pm 1838 was one of the first to be buried at Salyers. They were the parents of 10 children whose names are: 1. Sally Jane 2. James William 3. Coleman 4. Lucinda 5. Polly Ann 6. John L 7. Fanny Sarone 8. Naomie 9. Jacob W 10. William Johnson After she died he married Margaret Hopper January 21, 1840, to this union was born 4 children names are: 11. Milton H. and twin sister 12. Nancy Ann 13. Susannah 14. Lucrete's You can see he was father of 14 children who married as follows: 1. Sally Jane married David Wallace King. Grandparents of Dick King. B or R ansome can tell you who he was. 2. James William born Feb 5, 1822 died June 9, 1838. Never married. 3. Coleman Durham who is my Grandfather married Artimesa Perkins their children Josh, Jessie, Polly, Jake, Taylor, Juintilda, Lecta & Jimmie. 4. Lucinda died young 5. Polly Ann married William Hatter father and mother of Columbus Hatter. 6. John L. Married Martha Snow Douglas mother of Hysom and Joe Douglas, also father and mother of Elly Jane Morgan, Margret Morgan. 7. Fanny Sorene married Riley Perkins grandparents of Cyrus and Esker Black. 8. Naomie married Isaiah Durham grandparents of Mrs. Ira Pitman. 9. Jacob Warner married Sally Perkins sister to Riley Perkins great grandparents of Aroma Bray. 10. William Johnson married Hannah Morgan father and mother of Walker Durham, these are his and his first wife's family. John Durham & Nancy Lucas I mean after Nancy Lucas died He married Margret Hopper they had 4 children names are as follows: 11. Milton H. married Permela Sloan parents of Silas, George, Johnnie, Willie, Blane, Joe Zella, Mary and Jody. 12. Nancy Ann twin sister to Milton H. she was Slickey Billie Durham mother. Her daughter Rena married Douglas then Wall. 13. Susannah died young. 14. Lucretia married Isaiah Durham husband of her sister Naomie. Naomie was Uncle Tommie Durham's mother and her sister Lucretia was Logan Brown and Dick's mother. This is not a complete list only back ground. Maybe you can get some out of it. I could explain much better. Use to think Uncle Isaiah and Uncle Warner were cousins to my grandfather Coleman, but they are not brothers. My mother's name was Quintilda Durham who married Frank Williams. My brothers were Willie, Wallace, Ebalee and Aird, sister was Nora. I married Zettie Emerson we have 11 children Clarice, Floyd, Alline Luttrell, Hazel Bernnett, Frank ,Earnest, Reed,Cleo,(Donald & Ronald twins) Florence and David. George Douglas deeded one acre of land to trustees of MT> Olive Meeting house 23rd day of July 1841. Trustees were George Douglas, Englin King and John Durham and their successors. These three were some of the charter members of the church which was organized in 1832. ALL OF THIS WAS WRITTEN BY MARAICE WILLIAMS.
