Has anyone else noticed that "spins and weaves" shows up quite a bit for ladies' occupations in the mid-1800s census for Casey County? This was listed instead of "housewife" for many women. I like it since it's more descriptive. But it's so unusual that you have to wonder if there was an early feminist among the census takers! Paula Wethington Rose
